I’m Alexis, the face behind Faylander Studios. A native to the foothills of Maine, much of the work that I create is inspired by the plants, animals, and spirits of the forests I call home. I graduated from the University of Maine at Machias in 2014 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Fine Arts and a minor in Book Arts. Since then, my art career has evolved into Faylander Studios. I now ship my one of a kind hand crafted creations, prints, and stationery to folks all over the world!

What is Faylander?

I came up with the name faylander when I was 10 years old. It’s a word I used to discribe someone who could walk between the threshold of our world and the faery realm. Little did I know that it would stay with me all these years. Like the masks that I create, faylander is not so much a name to conceal an identity. It is an invitation to see through new eyes a world filled with enchantment.

Commissions

I have been honored over the years to be asked to create artwork for others. Some are gifts, while others are kept by the commissioner to celebrate new passages of life or as remembrance of a loved one.

Some examples of commissioned pieces may be: a mask, painting, portrait, tattoo design, or book illustration.

The price is dependent upon the materials, size, and time it takes to complete a project.
